Finishes & Trims
Finishes
Unique to Stone Manufacturing Company is the use of solid brass and bronze in manufacturing the vast majority of its products. The rich finishes and warm tones achieved through hand-oxidation, patination and even plating over brass, is unable to be matched by finishes over plated steel. The solid brass gives a deeper lustre that makes the pieces more eye-catching.Many of our thirty-six finishes are trademarked originals developed here at Stone Manufacturing Company. There is a constant tweaking of our artist’s palette to bring to market today’s most relevant finishes.
Another significant example of our process is that if a screen is ordered with say fireplace tools and a pair of andirons, they will all be processed together as a batch, so that finish consistency can be expected, even between product groups. These can also be ordered to sample match your hardware or lighting fixtures.
Worthy of mention is that our products are coated with custom formulated baked on enamels, rather than air-dry lacquers, for their greater durability, longevity and scuff resistance.

Trims
There are over 20 casting designs. Developed over many years, these are a part of Stone Manufacturing Company’s extensive stable of original and exclusive molds and dies. Many are classically inspired, and have been in use since ancient Greek times. They are still to be found in millwork specified for fine homes. Once again Stone Manufacturing Company stands alone in this space. The castings are used by us as framing for our spark arresors, folding screens and doors, and as overlays for curtain screens and surrounds. Made of solid brass, they are available in all the rich finishes and warm tones that we offer.
They are particularly unique as they often match design elements from the mantels that surround the fireplace. With so much variety, it also allows their use in different fireplaces around the home without fear of leaving a repetitive generic appearance, instead leaving a mark of distinction.
There are also a dozen unique proprietary extruded solid brass shapes that complement the castings for similar applications, but for a simpler look.
